about ARCHIPRIX

The Archiprix Foundation is a collaboration between higher educational institutions in the Netherlands in the fields of architecture, planning and landscape architecture. Institutions taking part are:

The foundation's executive board consists of representatives of these institutions and has an independent chairman.

The objectives of the Archiprix Foundation are:

  1. To promote the influx into the design world of talented designers graduating from Dutch institutions for higher education in the fields of architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture.
  2. To offer a platform to Dutch design institutions on which to present themselves both at home and abroad.
  3. To further discussion about the content and quality of design education in the Netherlands.

In line with these objectives Archiprix organizes annually the judging, awarding and presenting of the best graduation projects from the participant institutions.

These educational institutions consequently send the best of their graduation projects to Archiprix each year. And each year the executive board nominates a jury to judge the submitted plans and award the prizes and/or honorable mentions. The jury consists of four experts each active in one of the fields involved, supplemented by a theoretician. During a Public Meeting the jury's assessment is made known, the plans are shown for the first time and the book containing the submitted plans and the jury report is presented.
